Weekly Message from the Principal

Good afternoon Zuni Families,

I am excited to share a great opportunity for your students this summer: a free Summer Reading Program that provides focused, small-group literacy instruction, with a ratio of four students to one teacher to ensure every student has the skills and confidence to succeed. Whether your child is struggling and needs to get caught up or is looking to get further ahead in their reading abilities, this program is designed for them.

The program runs Monday through Friday, from June 8 to July 17, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., with no session on June 19 or the week of June 29 through July 3. To ensure accessibility for all families, APS is providing free transportation, breakfast, and lunch. Child care is also available at most sites from 12 to 6 p.m. daily.

Spaces are limited, so please register your student soon by going to APS.edu/summer. If you have any trouble signing up, please don’t hesitate to contact Ms. Allen at (505) 881-8313 or by email at sarah.allen@aps.edu.

Programs like this make a difference for students. I urge you to seize the opportunity.

May 15th is our annual Communication Celebration/Art Show/Silent Auction/Picnic day. Come enjoy student presentations, student art in the hallways, a picnic lunch and bid on some theme baskets!  Put it on your calendars from 10 am - 12 pm.

May 22nd is Backwards/Inside Out Day! Come dressed with clothes inside out or backwards or as your favorite character from the Inside Out movie.

Thank you all very much and have a great evening.
